Key constructions:

  • Я приглашаю тебя на ужин. — I'm inviting you to dinner. (accusative: тебя)
  • Приходи к нам в субботу! — Come to our place on Saturday! (informal imperative)
  • Что принести? — What should I bring? (infinitive in question)

  • Угощайтесь! — Help yourself! / Enjoy! (imperative from угощаться)
  • Поднимем бокалы за... — Let's raise our glasses to... (we-imperative)

Russian hosts often insist guests eat more: Ешьте, ешьте! (Eat, eat!). Guests typically bring flowers, wine, or sweets as a gift (подарок).
