Pharmacy interactions require polite request forms and the causative:
〜てもらえますか (could you do... for me?)
A polite way to ask for help.
- この薬(くすり)について説明(せつめい)してもらえますか。 (Could you explain this medicine to me?)
〜てもいいですか (may I...?)
Ask for permission.
- この薬(くすり)を食後(しょくご)に飲(の)んでもいいですか。 (May I take this medicine after meals?)
使役形(しえきけい) 〜させる (causative)
Express making or letting someone do something. Used in medical contexts.
- 医者(いしゃ)が患者(かんじゃ)に薬(くすり)を飲(の)ませた。 (The doctor had the patient take medicine.)
Formation: Group 1: 飲む → 飲ませる, Group 2: 食べる → 食べさせる, する → させる

Erros frequentes
薬について説明してもらいますか。薬について説明してもらえますか。Use もらえますか (potential) not もらいますか for polite requests.
この薬を飲んでいいですか。この薬を飲んでもいいですか。The pattern is て + も + いいですか. Do not omit も.
医者が患者に薬を飲まさせた。医者が患者に薬を飲ませた。飲む is Group 1: 飲ませる (not 飲まさせる). Don't double the causative.
子供に野菜を食べらせる。子供に野菜を食べさせる。食べる is Group 2: 食べさせる (not 食べらせる). Group 2 causative replaces る with させる.
アレルギーがあるですが。アレルギーがあるんですが。Use んですが (explanatory) when providing background information to the pharmacist.
