Erros frequentes

  Несмотря на requires a noun or noun phrase, never a full clause with subject.

• ✗Хотя дождя, мы вышли.
  ✓Несмотря на дождь, мы вышли.

  Хотя introduces a full clause; Несмотря на is followed by a noun in the accusative.

• ✗Тем не менее, но доклад был отличным.
  ✓Тем не менее, доклад был отличным.

  Тем не менее is already a contrasting connector; do not add но as well.

• ✗Зато что он устал, он работал хорошо.
  ✓Хотя он устал, он работал хорошо.

  Зато is a particle meaning but on the other hand, not a conjunction to introduce clauses.

• ✗Однако, но я не согласен.
  ✓Однако я не согласен.

  Однако already means however; combining it with но is redundant.

• ✗Всё же, но она поехала.
  ✓Всё же она поехала.

  Всё же means still/yet and does not combine with но.
