Erros frequentes

• ✗10年間この会社で働いています。
  ✓10年間(じゅうねんかん)この会社(かいしゃ)で働(はたら)いてきました。

  〜ている describes a current state. 〜てきた emphasizes the journey and continuous effort from past to present, which is more appropriate for career narratives.

• ✗海外で働くことがあります。
  ✓海外(かいがい)で働(はたら)いたことがあります。

  For past experience, use past tense 働いた before ことがある. 働く+ことがある means it sometimes happens (habitual), not a past experience.

• ✗日本語で会議ができたようになりました。
  ✓日本語(にほんご)で会議(かいぎ)ができるようになりました。

  〜ようになる requires the dictionary form (present): できる+ようになった. Using past できた is incorrect here.

• ✗スキルを身に付いてきました。
  ✓スキルを身(み)に付(つ)けてきました。

  身に付ける is transitive (to acquire). 身に付く is intransitive (it sticks). Since YOU are actively acquiring skills, use the transitive 付ける.

• ✗新しい挑戦をすると思います。
  ✓新(あたら)しい挑戦(ちょうせん)をしたいと思(おも)っています。

  と思います states a fact/opinion. したいと思っています expresses an ongoing desire, which is more natural for career aspirations.
