At the Café — Ordering Drinks
Polite ordering — मुझे ... चाहिए:
The most common way to order is:
💬 "मुझे एक चाय चाहिए।" (mujhe ek cāy cāhie.) → "I would like one tea."
💬 "मुझे दो कॉफ़ी चाहिए।" (mujhe do koffī cāhie.) → "I would like two coffees."
Polite request — क्या मुझे ... मिल सकती/सकता है?
💬 "क्या मुझे एक गिलास पानी मिल सकता है?" → "Could I have a glass of water?"
Customizing your order:
💬 "बिना चीनी के।" (binā cīnī ke.) → "Without sugar."
💬 "थोड़ा दूध के साथ।" (thoṛā dūdh ke sāth.) → "With a little milk."
Asking for the bill:
💬 "बिल लाइए।" (bil lāie.) → "Please bring the bill."
💬 "बिल कितना हुआ?" (bil kitnā huā?) → "How much is the bill?"
💡 In India, chai (चाय) is the national drink — it's usually made with milk, sugar, ginger and spices (masala chai).
