Persuasive writing in Dutch combines logical argumentation with rhetorical skill. At C1 level, you should construct compelling arguments that withstand critical scrutiny.

Argumentation structure: 1. Stelling (thesis): State clearly: De overheid dient meer te investeren in onderwijs. 2. Argumenten (arguments): Ten eerste... Ten tweede... Ten derde... 3. Onderbouwing (evidence): Facts, statistics, expert opinions 4. Weerlegging (refutation): Critici beweren dat..., maar... 5. Conclusie (conclusion): Derhalve... / Al met al...

Rhetorical devices:

Rhetorical question: Willen wij werkelijk in zo'n samenleving leven?
Tricolon: Het is onrechtvaardig, onverantwoord en onaanvaardbaar.
Appeal to authority: Zoals professor De Vries betoogt...

Common fallacies to avoid: de drogreden — ad hominem (attacking the person), stroman (straw man), vals dilemma (false dichotomy), beroep op emotie (appeal to emotion).

Call to action: End with a powerful closing: Het is aan ons om nu te handelen. (It is up to us to act now.) Laten we niet langer wachten. (Let us wait no longer.)
