  所+verb must be followed by 的 before the noun it modifies. The structure is 所+verb+的+noun.

  The structure is 以X为Y. The particle 为 cannot be omitted when establishing X as Y.

• ✗拍摄在上世纪九十年代
  ✓拍摄于上世纪九十年代

  The classical particle 于 is used for time and place in formal written Chinese. 在 is conversational — avoid it in film criticism.

• ✗导演所想传达信息很耐人寻味。
  ✓导演所想传达的信息很耐人寻味。

  As with other 所+verb structures, 的 is required between the nominalized verb and the following noun.

• ✗节奏紧凑地很好。
  ✓节奏非常紧凑。

  节奏紧凑 is a predicate adjective phrase. It cannot take 地 as if 紧凑 were an adverb modifying 好.
