To talk about travel plans, you use the future simple and ir a + infinitive:
- Futuro simple: firm plans, predictions → Pararé si me canso.
- Ir a + infinitivo: near intentions → Vamos a visitar la costa.
Saldremos a las 6 de la mañana. (We will leave at 6 in the morning.)
Vamos a parar en una gasolinera. (We are going to stop at a petrol station.)
When to use which?
- Ir a: immediate plans, decisions already made → Vamos a tomar la autopista.
- Futuro: more distant plans, conditions → Si llueve, tomaremos la autovía.
Navigation vocabulary:
- Gira a la derecha/izquierda (Turn right/left)
- Sigue recto (Go straight on)
- Toma la salida... (Take the exit...)
