When shopping for clothes in Korea, you need to know a few key grammar patterns.
Wearing verbs — 입다 vs 신다:
- 입다 is used for clothing worn on the body: 옷을 입어요 (I wear clothes), 셔츠를 입어요 (I wear a shirt)
- 신다 is used for footwear: 신발을 신어요 (I wear shoes), 양말을 신어요 (I wear socks)
Asking about size:
- 사이즈가 어떻게 돼요? — What size is it?
- 작아요 — It is small / 커요 — It is big / 딱 맞아요 — It fits perfectly
Trying on clothes:
