The を (wo) Particle — Object Marker
In Japanese, the particle を (pronounced "o") marks the direct object of a verb — the thing being acted upon.
💬 Example: "パンを たべます" → "I eat bread"
The structure is simple: [object] を [verb]
- みずを のみます → I drink water
- にくを たべます → I eat meat
- くだものを かいます → I buy fruit
たべます & のみます — Eat & Drink
These are the polite (ます) forms of two essential verbs:
- たべます → to eat (polite)
- のみます → to drink (polite)
💬 Example: "なにを たべますか?" → "What will you eat?"
The negative form simply replaces ます with ません:
- たべません → I don't eat
- のみません → I don't drink
Uitdrukkingen
- おなかが すいたI'm hungry (casual)
