Visiting a Monument — Directions and Superlatives

Asking and giving directions:

• संग्रहालय कहाँ है? — Where is the museum?
• सीधे जाइए। — Go straight.
• दाईं तरफ़ मुड़िए। — Turn right.
• बाईं तरफ़ मुड़िए। — Turn left.
• यहाँ से कितनी दूर है? — How far is it from here?

Superlatives with सबसे: Hindi superlatives use सबसे (most) before the adjective:

• यह भारत का सबसे पुराना मंदिर है। — This is India's oldest temple.
• यह सबसे मशहूर स्मारक है। — This is the most famous monument.
• ताज महल सबसे सुंदर इमारत है। — The Taj Mahal is the most beautiful building.

Superlative adjectives agree with the noun in gender:

• सबसे बड़ा संग्रहालय — the biggest museum (m)
• सबसे बड़ी मस्जिद — the biggest mosque (f)

Asking about entry:

• टिकट कितने का है? — How much is the ticket?
• क्या यहाँ फ़ोटो खींच सकते हैं? — Can we take photos here?
• क्या अंदर जा सकते हैं? — Can we go inside?
