French journalism follows the pyramide inversée: most important information first, details later.

Writing a Lead (Accroche)
The chapeau summarises the article in 2-3 sentences. It must hook the reader:
"Trois mois après la réforme, les premiers résultats tombent — et ils sont mitigés."
Quote Integration
French journalism integrates quotes precisely:
- Direct: « La situation est grave », a déclaré le ministre.
- Indirect: Le ministre a indiqué que la situation était grave.
- Mixed: Le ministre a qualifié la situation de « grave ».
Note: French uses « guillemets » (not "quotation marks").
