  Duration sentences need a second 了 at the end to show the state is still ongoing — one 了 after the verb and one at the sentence end.

  ✓从昨天开始，我一直咳嗽。

  从...开始 is a set phrase — do not insert the subject between 从 and 开始. Put the subject after 开始.

• ✗症状是头疼和发烧和恶心。
  ✓症状是头疼、发烧和恶心。

  Use the Chinese enumeration comma 、 between list items, and only use 和 before the last item.

• ✗我感觉有点很疼。
  ✓我感觉有点疼。

  有点 and 很 cannot both modify the same adjective — pick one. 有点 is softer; 很 is stronger.

• ✗医生，我的症状很严重不严重？
  ✓医生，我的症状严重吗？

  The A不A question pattern and 吗 cannot be used together — choose one question form.
