Making suggestions: 我们...吧 and 怎么样？
Suggesting with 我们...吧
吧 (ba) at the end of a suggestion softens it into an invitation:
- 我们去吃火锅吧！(Wǒmen qù chī huǒguō ba!) — Let's go eat hot pot!
- 我们周末爬山吧。(Wǒmen zhōumò pá shān ba.) — Let's go hiking on the weekend.
Asking for opinions with 怎么样？
怎么样 (zěnmeyàng) means "how about it?" or "what do you think?":
- 去看电影怎么样？(Qù kàn diànyǐng zěnmeyàng?) — How about going to see a movie?
- 我们约明天，怎么样？(Wǒmen yuē míngtiān, zěnmeyàng?) — Let's meet tomorrow, what do you think?
Responding to suggestions
- Accepting: 好啊！/ 好的！/ 当然！ — Great! / Sure! / Of course!
- Politely declining: 不好意思，我有事。 — Sorry, I have something on.
- Suggesting another time: 改天吧。 — How about another day?
