Korean advertising uses powerful psychological and linguistic techniques to drive consumer behavior. Three key persuasion patterns:
1. Urgency and scarcity: 지금 바로 구매하세요! 한정 수량! (Buy right now! Limited quantity!) — imperative + scarcity signal.
2. Social proof: 수백만 명이 선택한 (chosen by millions) or 전문가 추천 (expert-recommended) — authority appeal.
3. Emotional framing: 당신의 가족을 위한 선택 (a choice for your family) — guilt and love trigger.
Grammar patterns in ads:
- -아/어 보세요 (try doing...) — gentle imperative
- -만 하면 됩니다 (you just need to...) — ease signal
- -어/아야 합니다 (you must...) — urgency/obligation
Critically analyzing these patterns helps you become resistant to manipulation and write more persuasive Korean yourself.
