Cleft sentences (frases clivadas) Emphasise a specific element: É a tecnologia que vai mudar a educação. (It is technology that will change education.) Structure: É + focus + que + rest of sentence. This highlights what matters most.

The compound future (futuro composto) Expresses what will have been completed: Até 2030, teremos implementado novas metodologias. (By 2030, we will have implemented new methodologies.) Formed with ter in the future + past participle.

Expressing opinions about the future Acredito que a educação vai... (I believe education will...), É provável que as escolas venham a... (It is likely that schools will...). Note: é provável que triggers the subjunctive.

Contrasting present and future Atualmente... no entanto, no futuro... (Currently... however, in the future...). Se compararmos o ensino de hoje com o de amanhã... (If we compare today's teaching with tomorrow's...).
