Describing Patterns with the Imperfect
The imperfect tense describes repeated past actions in relationships:
- Ele controlava tudo o que eu fazia. — He controlled everything I did.
- Ela manipulava-me constantemente. — She constantly manipulated me.
Recognising Warning Signs
- É um sinal de alerta quando alguém tenta isolar-te. — It is a warning sign when someone tries to isolate you.
- A chantagem emocional é uma forma de abuso. — Emotional blackmail is a form of abuse.
