Discourse Connectors

Portuguese presentations rely on connecting words to guide the audience:

Introducing: Em primeiro lugar... / Para começar... Adding: Além disso... / Por outro lado... Contrasting: No entanto... / Apesar disso... Concluding: Em conclusão... / Para terminar...

Engaging the Audience

Use rhetorical questions:

Já pensaram em...? (Have you ever thought about...?)
Sabiam que...? (Did you know that...?)

Presentation Structure

1. Introdução: State the topic — Hoje vou falar sobre... 2. Desenvolvimento: Present key points with connectors 3. Conclusão: Summarize and close — Em resumo... / Para concluir...

Tip: Use gostaria de (I would like to) for a polished, formal tone.
