Climate Change in Hindi
The third conditional is key for discussing climate — expressing what would have happened if we had acted differently:
अगर हमने पहले कदम उठाए होते, तो आज स्थिति इतनी गंभीर न होती। (If we had taken steps earlier, the situation would not be so serious today.)
Structure: अगर + past perfect + होते/होती, तो + present conditional negative

Urgency constructions:
- अगर अभी नहीं जागे, तो बहुत देर हो जाएगी। (If we don't wake up now, it will be too late.)
Hindi environmental journalism frequently uses:
- तबाही (destruction/devastation), संकट (crisis), चेतावनी (warning), उपाय (remedy/solution)
India-specific context: India is both a major emitter and a country vulnerable to climate impacts. Key debates: coal dependency (कोयला), monsoon disruption (मानसून), and Himalayan glaciers (हिमालयी ग्लेशियर).
