  After laut + source, normal V2 word order applies: verb in second position.

  ✓Dem Bericht zufolge...

  Zufolge is a postposition: the dative noun comes before it.

• ✗Wie Müller argumentiert dass...
  ✓Wie Müller argumentiert,...

  After wie + author + verb, use a comma, not dass.

• ✗Nach die Angaben des Autors
  ✓Nach den Angaben des Autors

  Nach takes the dative: die Angaben becomes den Angaben.

• ✗Müller betont: die Forschung steht am Anfang
  ✓Müller betont, die Forschung stehe am Anfang

  Use Konjunktiv I (stehe) for indirect speech after betont, or proper quote marks for direct speech.
