Indirect speech is essential when reporting travel problems.
Basic indirect speech:
- Er hat mir gesagt, dass der Flug gestrichen ist. (He told me that the flight is cancelled.)
- Sie hat gefragt, ob ich eine Versicherung habe. (She asked if I have insurance.)
dass vs. ob:
- dass (that) — for statements: Er meinte, dass das Hotel voll ist.
- ob (whether/if) — for yes/no questions: Sie fragte, ob ich Hilfe brauche.
Reporting in travel situations:
- Der Beamte sagte, dass ich zum Konsulat gehen soll. (The official said I should go to the consulate.)
- Man hat mir erklärt, dass die Erstattung sechs Wochen dauert. (I was told that the refund takes six weeks.)

Mein Gepäck hat nicht angekommen.Mein Gepäck ist nicht angekommen.Ankommen is a verb of movement/arrival — it takes sein, not haben: ist angekommen.
Ich möchte ein Anzeige erstatten.Ich möchte eine Anzeige erstatten.Anzeige is feminine — use eine, not ein.
Können Sie mich bitte helfen?Können Sie mir bitte helfen?Helfen takes the dative — use mir, not mich.
