  In indirect speech, remove quotation marks. The clause with que replaces them.

• ✗Elle demande que vous pouvez baisser le son.
  ✓Elle demande si vous pouvez baisser le son.

  For reported yes/no questions, use si, not que.

• ✗Est-ce que vous pouvez faire moins de bruit ?
  ✓Est-ce que vous pourriez faire moins de bruit ?

  Use the conditional (pourriez) instead of present (pouvez) for a more polite complaint.

• ✗Il a dit qu'il va partir.
  ✓Il a dit qu'il allait partir.

  In indirect speech with a past main verb, futur proche (va) shifts to imparfait (allait).

• ✗Je me plaint du bruit.
  ✓Je me plains du bruit.

  The je form of se plaindre is plains, not plaint (that's the il/elle form).
