Hotel & Accommodation – Noun Cases
When talking about accommodation, Polish requires specific cases for different contexts.
- Nominative: Pokój jest wolny. (The room is available.)
- Genitive (after numbers 2-4): Mam rezerwację na dwie noce. (I have a reservation for two nights.)
- Accusative (direct object): Chcę zarezerwować pokój. (I want to book a room.)
- Locative (location): Mieszkam w hotelu. (I am staying in the hotel.)
- Instrumental (with): Płacę kartą. (I am paying by card.)
Key tip: After "za" meaning "for (cost)", use Accusative:
- Płacę za pokój sto złotych. (I am paying a hundred zlotys for the room.)

Chcę pokój dla dwa osoby.Chcę pokój dla dwóch osób.After 'dla' use Genitive. 'Dwa' → 'dwóch', 'osoba' → 'osób' (Genitive plural).
Mieszkam w hotel.Mieszkam w hotelu.'W' + location requires Locative case: hotel → hotelu.
