Superlatives (el más grande, el más famoso)

In Spanish, to say something is "the most" or "the -est", we use the structure el/la/los/las + más + adjective.

Example: "La catedral es el monumento más famoso." → "The cathedral is the most famous monument."

Example: "Este es el parque más grande de la ciudad." → "This is the biggest park in the city."

Note that the article (el, la, los, las) must agree with the noun in gender and number:

• el museo más interesante → the most interesting museum (masculine singular)
• la plaza más bonita → the prettiest square (feminine singular)
• los barrios más antiguos → the oldest neighbourhoods (masculine plural)

Asking for and giving directions

To ask for directions, use these key phrases:

• ¿Dónde está...? → Where is...?
• ¿Cómo llego a...? → How do I get to...?
• ¿Está lejos? → Is it far?

To give directions:

• Sigue todo recto → Go straight ahead
• Gira a la derecha / izquierda → Turn right / left
• Está al lado de... → It is next to...
• Está enfrente de... → It is in front of...

Example: "¿Cómo llego al mercado?" — "Sigue recto y gira a la izquierda." → "How do I get to the market?" — "Go straight and turn left."
