자주 하는 실수

• ✗Querida Sra. García, te escribo para pedir información.
  ✓Estimada Sra. García, le escribo para solicitar información.

  In a formal letter, use Estimado/a (not Querido/a) and usted (le/le escribo, not te escribo). Solicitar is preferred over pedir.

• ✗Le escribo para que me da información sobre los cursos.
  ✓Le escribo para que me dé información sobre los cursos.

  After para que, the subjunctive (dé) is required, not the indicative (da).

• ✗Adjunto mi CV. Espero tu respuesta.
  ✓Adjunto mi CV. Quedo a la espera de su respuesta.

  In a formal context, use su (not tu) and the formula quedo a la espera de instead of the simple espero.

• ✗Le ruego que considera mi solicitud.
  ✓Le ruego que considere mi solicitud.

  After le ruego que, the subjunctive (considere) is required, not the indicative (considera).

• ✗Me dirijo a ti para solicitar una beca.
  ✓Me dirijo a usted para solicitar una beca.

  In a formal letter, always address with usted, never with tú/ti.
