Russian presentations follow predictable signposting structures. Mastering transition phrases makes your speech sound fluent and organised.
Opening
- Позвольте начать с... — Allow me to start with...
- Тема моего доклада — ... — The topic of my talk is...
- Сегодня я расскажу вам о... — Today I will tell you about...
Signposting During the Talk
Use во-первых, во-вторых, в-третьих (first, second, third) for structure.
Transition phrases:
- Перейдём к следующему пункту. — Let's move on to the next point.
- Как вы видите на слайде... — As you can see on the slide...
- Хотелось бы остановиться на... — I would like to focus on...
Concluding
- Подводя итог, хочу отметить... — To summarize, I want to note...
- Таким образом, мы видим, что... — Thus we can see that...
- Благодарю за внимание! — Thank you for your attention!
- Готов/готова ответить на вопросы. — I'm ready to answer questions.
Grammar Note: Хотелось бы
This impersonal construction (хотелось бы + infinitive) expresses a polite wish: Хотелось бы подчеркнуть... — I would like to emphasize...
