Email Structure in Portuguese

1. Greeting: Exmo./Exma. Sr./Sra. + name (formal) or Caro/a + name (semi-formal) 2. Opening: State the purpose 3. Body: Provide details 4. Closing: Com os melhores cumprimentos / Atenciosamente 5. Signature: Name + position

Formal Register: "Você" Form

In professional emails, use the você form (3rd person singular):

Poderia enviar-me o relatório? *(Could you send me the report?)*
Gostaria de agendar uma reunião. *(I would like to schedule a meeting.)*

Key Email Phrases

Venho por este meio informar... *(I am writing to inform...)*
Em relação a... *(Regarding...)*
Conforme o combinado... *(As agreed...)*
Segue em anexo o documento. *(Attached is the document.)*

Tip: "Exmo." (Excelentíssimo) is very formal. "Caro/a" is more commonly used in everyday professional emails in Portugal.
