Project Management in Japanese
Managing projects requires expressing deadlines, conditions, and temporal relationships. These patterns are essential in business Japanese.
Deadline: までに
- までに — "by (a certain time)": *金曜日までに報告書を提出してください。* (Please submit the report by Friday.)
While There's Time: うちに
- うちに — "while / before it's too late": *問題が小さいうちに対処しよう。* (Let's deal with it while the problem is small.)
Accompanying Change: に伴って
- に伴って — "along with / as a result of": *プロジェクトの拡大に伴って、予算も増えた。* (Along with the project expansion, the budget also increased.)
Gradual Change: につれて
- につれて — "as X happens, Y changes": *締め切りが近づくにつれて、プレッシャーが高まる。* (As the deadline approaches, pressure increases.)

자주 하는 실수
金曜日までに報告書を提出した。金曜日までに報告書を提出してください。までに sets a deadline for a request. Past tense implies it already happened, not a request.
問題が小さいのうちに対処しよう。問題が小さいうちに対処しよう。うちに connects directly to adjectives/verbs without の for i-adjectives.
拡大を伴って予算も増えた。拡大に伴って予算も増えた。に伴って takes the particle に, not を.
締め切りが近づくに連れて。締め切りが近づくにつれて。につれて is usually written in hiragana, not with kanji 連れて which means to take along.
進捗が報告する。進捗を報告する。報告する takes を for the object being reported, not が.
