Days and Months in Japanese
Days of the week (ようび)
All days end in ようび (youbi). They come from nature elements:
- げつようび (Monday) → moon
- かようび (Tuesday) → fire
- すいようび (Wednesday) → water
- もくようび (Thursday) → wood
- きんようび (Friday) → gold
- どようび (Saturday) → earth
- にちようび (Sunday) → sun
Months (がつ)
Add がつ to the number: いちがつ (January), にがつ (February)...
に particle with dates
げつようびに あいます。 → "We meet on Monday."
But: きょう and あした do NOT need に.

자주 하는 실수
きょうに いきますきょう いきますきょう, あした, きのう don't need に
しがつしがつ is correctApril = しがつ (not よんがつ). This is an exception!
なのかようびなのか (7th day)Don't confuse day of month with day of week
げつようびは あいますげつようびに あいますDays of the week need に (unlike きょう)
にちようび の まえにちようびの まえにAdd に after まえ for before a day
