Basic weather pattern
きょうは いい てんきですね。 → "Nice weather today, isn't it?"
Weather descriptions use です:
- はれです → It's sunny
- あめです → It's rainy
- くもりです → It's cloudy
Temperature adjectives
- あついです → It's hot
- さむいです → It's cold
- すずしいです → It's cool
- あたたかいです → It's warm
Asking about weather
きょうの てんきは どうですか？ → "How's the weather today?"
The particle ね (ne) at the end seeks confirmation, like "isn't it?"
표현
- きょうは いい てんきですねNice weather today!
- あめが ふっていますIt is raining
- さむくないですか？Aren't you cold?
- かさを もっていますか？Do you have an umbrella?
- あしたは はれですTomorrow will be sunny
- あつくて たいへんですIt's hot and tough
자주 하는 실수
あつですあついですDon't drop the い from あつい
さむいくないさむくないRemove い before adding くない for negative
てんきは いいでしたてんきは よかったですPast of いい is よかった (irregular)
あめがですあめですJust use あめです, no が before です
はれいですはれですはれ is a noun, not an い-adjective
