Two key structures help you talk about wild animals.

ci sono... in... — there are... in... This structure describes the presence of animals in their natural habitat.

*In Italia ci sono molti lupi negli Appennini.* — In Italy there are many wolves in the Apennines.
*Nelle foreste ci sono cinghiali e volpi.* — In the forests there are wild boars and foxes.
*Nell''oceano ci sono delfini e tartarughe marine.* — In the ocean there are dolphins and sea turtles.

potere + infinitive — can / to be able to (describing animal abilities)

*Il delfino può nuotare velocissimo.* — The dolphin can swim very fast.
*L''aquila può volare a grande altezza.* — The eagle can fly at great heights.
*Il lupo può correre per molti chilometri.* — The wolf can run for many kilometres.

Note: with *ci sono* + place, use *in* for general locations and *nel/nella/nelle* for specific places with an article.
