Have to / Don't have to — 의무와 의무 없음
Have to → 해야 하는 일
- I have to do the laundry today. → 오늘 빨래를 해야 해요.
- She has to vacuum the living room. → 그녀는 거실에 청소기를 돌려야 해요.
- We have to take out the bins before 8am. → 우리는 8시 전에 쓰레기를 내놓아야 해요.
Don't have to → 안 해도 되는 일
- You don't have to iron your jeans. → 청바지는 다림질 안 해도 돼요.
- He doesn't have to do the washing up — the dishwasher is there! → 그는 설거지 안 해도 돼요. 식기세척기가 있잖아요!
주의: don't have to와 must not은 전혀 달라요.
- You don't have to clean your room. = 안 해도 돼요.
- You must not make noise at night. = 하면 안 돼요.
집안일 나누기
- I'm in charge of... → 제가 ~을 맡고 있어요.
- We share the chores. → 우리는 집안일을 나눠서 해요.
- It's your turn to... → 이번엔 네가 ~할 차례예요.
- Can you help me with...? → ~ 좀 도와줄래요?
