집을 설명하는 비교급과 최상급

집을 비교하거나 자기 집을 설명할 때는 비교급과 최상급을 써요.

형태 복습

비교급:

  • 짧은 형용사: bigger, smaller, cheaper, older
  • 긴 형용사: more spacious, more comfortable, more expensive
  • 불규칙: better, worse

최상급:

  • 짧은 형용사: the biggest, the smallest, the cheapest
  • 긴 형용사: the most spacious, the most comfortable
  • 불규칙: the best, the worst

집을 설명하는 예문

  • My flat is smaller than my parents' house, but it's more modern. → 제 집은 부모님 댁보다 작지만 더 현대적이에요.
  • The kitchen is the biggest room in the flat. → 주방이 집에서 가장 큰 방이에요.
  • This is the most comfortable sofa I've ever had! → 지금까지 써 본 소파 중에 가장 편해요!
  • My new flat is cheaper than the old one, but it's further from work. → 새집이 예전 집보다 싸지만 회사에서 더 멀어요.

설명에 쓰기 좋은 표현

  • It's quite spacious / tiny / cosy. → 꽤 널찍해요 / 아주 작아요 / 아늑해요.
  • It has a lovely view. → 전망이 좋아요.
  • It's on the third floor. → 3층에 있어요.

주의: 층을 말할 때는 in이 아니라 on을 써요.

자주 하는 실수

  • My flat is more bigger than yours
    My flat is bigger than yours

    bigger가 이미 비교급이에요. 앞에 more를 붙이지 않아요.

  • It's in the second floor
    It's on the second floor

    층에는 in이 아니라 on을 써요. on the second floor예요.

  • It's the more comfortable flat
    It's the most comfortable flat

    긴 형용사의 최상급은 the more가 아니라 the most예요.

  • My flat is more small than yours
    My flat is smaller than yours

    small은 1음절 짧은 형용사예요. more small이 아니라 smaller예요.

  • The kitchen is enough big
    The kitchen is big enough

    enough는 형용사 뒤에 놓아요. big enough가 맞아요.

  • My room has a big window and is very luminous
    My room has a big window and is very bright

    밝은 공간은 luminous가 아니라 bright라고 해요.
