"By" + medio de transporte

En inglés, para decir cómo te desplazas, se usa "by" + el medio de transporte, sin artículo:

💬 Ejemplo: "I go to work by bus." → "Voy al trabajo en autobús."
💬 Ejemplo: "She travels by train." → "Ella viaja en tren."

¡Atención! Se dice "on foot" (a pie), no "by foot".

💬 Ejemplo: "I go to school on foot." → "Voy al colegio a pie."

"Take the" + transporte

Para decir que coges un transporte concreto, usa "take the":

💬 Ejemplo: "Take the bus number 7." → "Coge el autobús número 7."
💬 Ejemplo: "We take the train to Edinburgh." → "Cogemos el tren a Edimburgo."

La regla es sencilla: "by" para el medio de transporte en general, "take the" cuando hablas de un transporte concreto.

Con "by" + transporte, nunca se pone artículo. Es una regla fija.

I go on foot
¡Excepción! Para "a pie" se dice "on foot", no "by foot".

I take bus number 7 / I take the number 7 bus
Se precisa "number" antes del número, o el número va antes de "bus".
~~I go in the train~~
I go by train / I'm on the train
Se viaja "by train" (medio) o se está "on the train" (dentro), nunca "in the train".
~~Where is the metro?~~
Where is the underground/subway?
La palabra "metro" no se usa en inglés. Es "underground" (UK) o "subway" (US).
~~I descend at the next stop~~
I get off at the next stop
No se dice "descend" en inglés coloquial. Se dice "get off" (bajar de un transporte).
