Bildung
If + Simple Present, ... will + Grundform
"If you have insurance, you can see a specialist directly."
"If you need a referral, your GP will send one."
- If you have insurance, you can see any doctor you want.
- If you don't register with a GP, you won't be able to get a referral.
- If the treatment is not covered, you will have to pay out of pocket.
- If you go to A&E, they will treat you regardless of your insurance.
Gebräuchliche Varianten
- Unless (= wenn nicht): "Unless you have a referral, you won't see a specialist."
- As long as (= solange, vorausgesetzt): "As long as you're registered, you'll get free treatment." → "Solange du angemeldet bist, bekommst du eine kostenlose Behandlung."
- Provided that (= vorausgesetzt, dass): "You'll be covered provided that you pay your premium." → "Du bist versichert, vorausgesetzt du zahlst deinen Beitrag."
