Consumer Rights in Portuguese
Portugal has strong consumer protection laws. Every establishment must provide a livro de reclamações (complaints book) upon request.
Making a Complaint
- Gostaria de fazer uma reclamação. — I would like to make a complaint.
- Peço o livro de reclamações, por favor. — I ask for the complaints book, please.
- Este produto tem um defeito. — This product has a defect.
Requesting a Refund or Exchange
- Exijo o reembolso total. — I demand a full refund.
- Gostaria de trocar este artigo. — I would like to exchange this item.
- O produto ainda está na garantia. — The product is still under warranty.
Formal Complaint Language
- Nos termos da lei, tenho direito a... — Under the terms of the law, I have the right to...
- Reservo-me o direito de apresentar queixa. — I reserve the right to file a complaint.
