Editorial language expresses institutional opinion and shapes public discourse.

Types of editorial genres in Polish:

Wstępniak (editorial): the newspaper's official voice, uses first-person plural my (we)
Komentarz (commentary): analysis from a named journalist, first person singular
Felieton (column): subjective, literary, personal tone — the most expressive genre

Key linguistic features:

Evaluative adjectives: bezprecedensowy (unprecedented), kontrowersyjny (controversial)
Hedging language: zdaje się, jak się wydaje (it seems, apparently)
Strong stance markers: bezsprzecznie, niewątpliwie (indisputably, undoubtedly)
Rhetorical questions: Czy można to inaczej interpretować? (Can this be interpreted otherwise?)

Opinion journalism in Poland distinguishes publicystyka (opinion writing) from dziennikarstwo informacyjne (news journalism).

Editorial language avoids bardzo zły (very bad) — prefer formal budzi wątpliwości (raises serious doubts)
