Persuasion and Rhetoric in Polish
Polish uses conditional sentences for softened requests and persuasion:
- Gdybyś zechciał... — If you would be willing...
- Byłoby wspaniale, gdyby... — It would be wonderful if...
Rhetorical questions (pytania retoryczne) are powerful:
- Czyż nie jest prawdą, że...? — Is it not true that...?
- Kto mógłby zaprzeczyć, że...? — Who could deny that...?
Emphatic constructions using właśnie and przecież:
- Właśnie o to chodzi. — That is exactly the point.
- Przecież wszyscy wiedzą, że... — Surely everyone knows that...
Tricolon (trójczłon) — listing three parallel elements — is a classic rhetorical device in Polish speeches.

- Jestem przekonany, że...I am convinced that...
- Nie sposób nie zauważyć, że...One cannot fail to notice that...
- Czyż nie jest oczywiste, że...?Is it not obvious that...?

Apelowałem do jego rozum.Apelowałem do jego rozumu.After the preposition do, nouns take the genitive case: rozumu not nominative rozum
To jest bardzo perswazywny argument.To jest bardzo przekonujący argument.perswazywny is a false calque; the correct adjective is przekonujący (convincing)
