  • "If we were to achieve mind uploading...":
  • "Should consciousness prove to be computationally reducible...":
  • "Were biological immortality to become achievable...":

  • "Would a digital copy of your mind be you?"
  • "Could cognitive enhancement alter the nature of moral responsibility?"
  • "Should we augment human intelligence if it creates new inequalities?"

  • Enhancement(不同于 treatment):超出常态的增强,不只是治疗疾病。
  • Mind uploading:

  • To blur the line between模糊两个类别之间的界线
  • To raise fundamental questions about提出某议题的根本性问题
  • The spectre of暗示潜在威胁或风险
  • To transcend biological constraints
  • To play God
  • The slippery slope of enhancement
  • To merge with the machine

  • Transhumanism wants to make humans immortal.
Transhumanism encompasses a range of positions — from life extension and cognitive enhancement to mind uploading and post-biological existence — not all of which involve immortality.

  • If we will achieve singularity, everything will change.
Were we to achieve the singularity, the trajectory of human civilisation would be fundamentally and irreversibly altered.

  • A cyborg is half human, half robot.
A cyborg is an organism that integrates both biological and technological components — the term was coined by Manfred Clynes and Nathan Kline in 1960 and encompasses a wide spectrum.

  • Bioethics says we shouldn't do this.
Bioethics does not prescribe outcomes — it provides a framework for reasoning about ethical questions at the intersection of biology, medicine, and technology.

  • Uploading your mind would make you immortal.
Uploading one's mind might produce a functional digital replica — but whether that replica would constitute continuity of personal identity remains philosophically contested.

  • Artificial intelligence will replace all human jobs.
AI will automate certain tasks within many jobs, but wholesale replacement of human labour remains contested among economists and technologists alike.

    'All jobs'
