Expressing rights in Spanish
To defend your consumer rights, formal structures are needed.
- Tiene derecho a + infinitive:
Usted tiene derecho a un reembolso. — You have the right to a refund.
- De conformidad con + law/regulation:
De conformidad con la ley, el producto debe ser reemplazado. — In accordance with the law, the product must be replaced.
- Exijo que + subjunctive:
Exijo que se me devuelva el dinero. — I demand that my money be returned.
- Según la normativa vigente:
Según la normativa vigente, la garantía cubre dos años. — According to current regulations, the warranty covers two years.
