Buying a ticket
At a train or bus station in Spain, you need to know how to buy a ticket and understand schedules.
Quiero ir a...
To say where you want to go, use quiero ir a + destination:
- Quiero ir a Madrid → I want to go to Madrid
- Quiero ir a la estación central → I want to go to the central station
Types of tickets
- Un billete de ida → A one-way ticket
- Un billete de ida y vuelta → A round-trip ticket
Asking about schedules
- ¿A qué hora sale el tren? → What time does the train leave?
- ¿A qué hora llega? → What time does it arrive?
- ¿De qué andén sale? → From which platform does it leave?
Example dialogue
— Buenos días. Quiero un billete de ida y vuelta a Sevilla. — ¿Para qué día? — Para hoy. ¿A qué hora sale el próximo tren? — Sale a las diez y cuarto, del andén tres.
