Advanced passive voice For art events: A exposição foi inaugurada pelo Presidente da República. (The exhibition was opened by the President.) As obras foram selecionadas por um curador internacional. The passive is common in cultural journalism.

Nominalisation of adjectives Turn adjectives into abstract nouns: belo → a beleza (beautiful → beauty), abstrato → a abstração (abstract → abstraction), contemporâneo → a contemporaneidade (contemporary → contemporaneity). This elevates the register.

Expressing subjective reactions Esta obra transmite-me uma sensação de... (This work conveys to me a sense of...), Interpreto esta peça como... (I interpret this piece as...), O artista quis expressar... (The artist wanted to express...).
