  Mancare works in reverse: la famiglia mi manca (the family is missing to me)

  Before a vowel: un' (with apostrophe), not una

• ✗Vorrei che tu eri qui
  ✓Vorrei che tu fossi qui

  After vorrei che, use the imperfect subjunctive (fossi), not the indicative (eri)

• ✗Il viaggio era molto bello e divertente
  ✓Il viaggio è stato molto bello e divertente

  For a completed action, use passato prossimo (è stato), not imperfetto (era)
