This lesson teaches you to write informal messages describing your holiday, using the present tense and passé composé.
Postcard structure: 1. Greeting: Cher Paul, / Chère Marie, / Coucou ! / Salut ! 2. Where you are: Je t'écris depuis Nice (I'm writing to you from Nice) 3. What you've done: On a visité le vieux port (We visited the old port) 4. How you feel: C'est magnifique ! / Je me régale ! (It's wonderful! / I'm having a great time!) 5. Closing: Bisous, À bientôt, Je t'embrasse
Describing experiences mixes tenses: use passé composé for completed actions (Hier, on a goûté la bouillabaisse) and present for current feelings (Il fait un temps superbe).
Useful connectors: d'abord (first), ensuite (then), puis (then), enfin (finally) help structure your story.
Exclamations add emotion: Quel paysage ! (What a landscape!), Que c'est beau ! (How beautiful it is!).

Je te manque.Tu me manques.In French, the person who is missed is the subject: Tu me manques = I miss you (literally: you are missing to me).
Quel belle paysage !Quel beau paysage !Paysage is masculine, so use beau, not belle.
On a visité le vieux port hier. On visite le musée hier aussi.On a visité le vieux port hier. On a aussi visité le musée.Both actions happened yesterday, so both need passé composé.
Je écris depuis Nice.J'écris depuis Nice.Je + vowel requires elision: J'écris.
Je profite la plage.Je profite de la plage.Profiter always requires the preposition de: profiter de.
