To talk about budgeting and financial planning, you use the first conditional (si + present, future):
- Si ahorro más, podré viajar. (If I save more, I will be able to travel.)
- Si reducimos gastos, podremos pagarlo. (If we cut expenses, we will be able to pay for it.)
Si no gastas tanto, tendrás dinero para el alquiler.
(If you don't spend so much, you'll have money for rent.)
Financial planning vocabulary:
- Hacer un presupuesto (To make a budget)
- Gastos fijos (Fixed expenses): rent, bills
- Gastos variables (Variable expenses): leisure, clothes
- Recortar gastos (To cut expenses)
To express financial ability:
- No me lo puedo permitir (I can't afford it)
- Está fuera de mi presupuesto (It's out of my budget)
