Giving and Understanding Directions
Imperative (Tu form)
To give directions informally, use the imperative:
- virar — vira
- seguir — segue
- atravessar — atravessa
- continuar — continua
Formal Directions (Você)
For polite/formal directions, use the present subjunctive:
- Vire à direita. — Turn right.
- Siga em frente. — Go straight ahead.
- Continue por esta rua. — Continue along this street.
