Remote Work: -(으)ㄴ 점 Expressing Advantages
When discussing remote work in Korean, you often list pros and cons. Use -(으)ㄴ 점 to highlight specific aspects or advantages.
-(으)ㄴ 점 (the point/aspect that...)
- 시간을 절약할 수 있는 점이 좋아요 — The good point is that you can save time
- 집에서 일할 수 있는 점이 편해요 — The convenient aspect is being able to work from home
- 출퇴근이 없는 점이 큰 장점이에요 — Not having a commute is a major advantage
Expressing advantages and disadvantages:
- 장점은 ~ 이에요 — The advantage is ~
- 단점은 ~ 이에요 — The disadvantage is ~
- 반면에 — on the other hand
- 재택근무의 장점은 유연성이에요. 반면에 고립감이 단점이에요.
Opinions on remote work:
- 재택근무가 더 효율적인 것 같아요 — Remote work seems more efficient
- 집중하기 어려운 점이 있어요 — There is the aspect of it being hard to concentrate
Typowe błędy
재택근무에 하고 있어요재택근무를 하고 있어요하다 takes the object marker -를 here, not the location marker -에. 재택근무를 하다 = to do remote work.
집에 일하면 집중하기 어려울 때도 있어요집에서 일하면 집중하기 어려울 때도 있어요Use -에서 for the place where an action happens. -에 marks a destination or static location, not where you work.
출퇴근이 없지만 시간을 절약할 수 있어요출퇴근이 없어서 시간을 절약할 수 있어요No commute is the reason you save time, so use cause -아서/어서. -지만 means 'but', which breaks the logic here.
오전에 화상회의가 있어오전에 화상회의가 있어요Drop the -요 and it becomes casual 반말. In polite speech (존댓말) to a colleague, keep 있어요.
워라밸이 좋아진 것 같아요 더워라밸이 더 좋아진 것 같아요The adverb 더 (more) goes right before the word it modifies: 더 좋아진, never at the end of the sentence.
