To talk about having something done (causative construction), Spanish uses hacer + infinitive:
- Hice pintar las paredes. (I had the walls painted.)
- Hicimos cambiar la alfombra. (We had the carpet changed.)
- Mandé instalar el aire acondicionado. (I had the air conditioning installed.)
*Hice pintar el salón de blanco.*
(I had the living room painted white.)
Two causative verbs:
- Hacer + infinitive: most common, neutral
- Mandar + infinitive: implies an order, more directive
Moving vocabulary:
- *Hacer las maletas* (To pack)
- *Dar de alta los suministros* (To set up utilities)
- *Firmar el contrato de alquiler* (To sign the lease)
- *Pagar la fianza* (To pay the deposit)
