To compare things in Spanish, use más ... que (more ... than) and menos ... que (less ... than):

*Mi piso es más grande que tu piso.* (My apartment is bigger than yours.)
*Esta calle es menos ruidosa que la otra.* (This street is less noisy than the other.)

For superlatives, use el/la/los/las más + adjective:

*Es la casa más bonita del barrio.* (It's the prettiest house in the neighborhood.)
*Es el piso más pequeño del edificio.* (It's the smallest apartment in the building.)

Note the irregular forms: mejor (better/best), peor (worse/worst), mayor (older/oldest), menor (younger/youngest).

Hay (there is / there are) describes what exists in a place: *En mi piso hay dos habitaciones.* (In my apartment there are two bedrooms.)
Tiene (it has) describes what something possesses: *Mi casa tiene un jardín grande.* (My house has a big garden.)

A common mistake is using *tiene* when talking about existence. Remember: hay = existence, tiene = possession.

Use hay (there is/are) for existence in a place, not tiene
~~Mi casa es más grande tu casa.~~
Mi casa es más grande que tu casa.
Comparatives require que after the adjective
~~Es más bonito del barrio.~~
Es el más bonito del barrio.
Superlatives need the definite article: el/la más + adjective
~~Mi piso es el más grande que el edificio.~~
Mi piso es el más grande del edificio.
Superlatives use del/de la (not que) to say of the...
~~Hay un jardín grande. Tiene muy bonito.~~
Hay un jardín grande. Es muy bonito.
Use ser (es) for descriptions, not tener
~~El vecino de abajo es más ruidoso de mi vecino.~~
El vecino de abajo es más ruidoso que mi vecino.
