# Writing a Postcard in Russian
Postcards use warm, informal language with specific Russian greeting formulas.
Opening a postcard:
- Привет из Москвы! — Hello from Moscow!
- Дорогой Андрей / Дорогая Аня, — Dear Andrei / Dear Anya, (dative: дорогому/дорогой in formal letters)
Sharing impressions:
- Здесь очень красиво! — It is very beautiful here!
- Я в восторге от этого города. — I am delighted by this city. (в восторге от + genitive)
- Виды просто потрясающие. — The views are simply stunning.
Missing someone:
- Скучаю по тебе / по вам. — I miss you. (скучать по + dative)
- Жду встречи с тобой. — I look forward to meeting you. (жду + genitive)
Closing a postcard:
- С любовью, Катя. — With love, Katya.
- Обнимаю! — Hugs! (lit. I embrace you)
- До скорой встречи! — Until we meet soon!
